Este mês, a playlist aproveita para revisitar obras clássicas de três autores de referência, a saber: ‘Saute ma ville’ (1968), de Chantal Ackerman; ‘Carol’ (1970), de Ed Emshwiller; e ainda ‘Three Transitions’ (1973), de Peter Campus.

São obras em formato vídeo, que nos trazem explorações necessariamente distintas da linguagem videográfica. desde a abordagem ao opressivo instalado pelo espaço doméstico, ao lirismo enquanto retrato a partir do espaço natural, passando para as possibilidades mecânicas e técnicas do próprio vídeo enquanto ferramenta, estas são obras que, mais do que curiosidades, se constituem como elementos relevantes cujo peso e alcance ainda hoje são visíveis e presentes.

This month, our video playlist revisits classical works by three authors of reference: ‘Saute ma ville’ (1968), by Chantal ackerman; ‘Carol’ (1970), by Ed Emshwiller; and ‘Three transitions’ (1973), by Peter Campus.

These are works in video format, that bring us necessarily different approaches to the videographic language. from the oppression installed by domestic space, to liricism as portrait emerging within natural space, an finally to the mechanical and technical possibilities of video as tool, these are works that, more than mere curiosities, are relevant elements whose reach and scope are still visible and present.
