Whirl é a proposta de André Fonseca para o projeto Playlist. Uma video instalação composta por dois ecrãs localizados na montra esquerda e interior do Café Candelabro.

As imagens partem de material cru gerado por computador numa perspetiva de estudo do movimento (ritmo), textura e cor (vídeo) através de objetos (.obj) esculpidos digitalmente ou apropriados.

Os objetos estranhos e orgânicos refletem características elementares que vão sendo afinadas ao longo do processo de edição (posterior) e re-configuração (procura de outros enquadramentos e dinâmicas – começar do ínicio).

Whirl advém desta tensão e diálogo constantes, de criação e destruição, re(configuração), tentativa e erro, refletindo um processo rudimentar que serve de meio (medium) para outras entidades se manifestarem.

André Fonseca nasceu em Coimbra, em 1985. Vive e trabalha no Porto. Neste momento apresenta o projecto Vast Vistas numa vertente curatorial no estúdio de Gustavo Guimarães – Arquitectura e Urbanismo. Foi membro fundador do colectivo Rua do Sol 172. Colaborou com a estrutura Andrómeda – agenciamento e produção. Syntopy é a sua prática focada na arte sonora com especial interesse nas componentes rítmica (polirritmia, ciclos), performativa (ritual, communitas, voz), espaço (reverb, arquitectura), entre outras. www.andrefonseca.org | www.syntopy.space

Whirl is artist André Fonseca’s proposal for the Playlist project. A video installation composed of two screens, located in the left and inside storefront of Café Candelabro.

Images depart from computer-generated raw material from a perspective of studying movement (rhythm), texture and color (video) through digitally or appropriately sculpted objects (.obj).

Strange and organic objects reflect elementary characteristics that are being fine-tuned throughout the (later) editing process and re-configuration (search for other framing and dynamics – start from the beginning).

Whirl comes from this constant tension and dialogue, of creation and destruction, re (configuration), trial and error, reflecting a rudimentary process that serves as a medium for other entities to manifest themselves.

André Fonseca was born in Coimbra in 1985. he lives and works in Porto. At the moment he’s presenting the Vast Vistas project as a curatorial approach, at Gustavo Guimarães – architecture and urbanism studio. He was a founding member of the Rua do Sol 172 collective. He collaborated with the structure Andrómeda – agency and production. Syntopy is his practice focused on sound art with special interest in the rhythmic components (polyrhythmia, cycles), performative (ritual, communitas, voice), space (reverb, architecture), among others.
